What is a Unite Church Partner?
Unite Church is a Trust, governed by a Board of Trustees.
Unite Church exists as a Charity in the community with the purpose to grow Apprentices of Jesus, according to the Bible, growing in Devotion with God and One Another. As Apprentices of Jesus grow, we believe the Love of God will be revealed to those outside of the Church also.
A Unite Church Partner is someone who relationally commits to being in a Neighbourhood Church in accordance with Unite Church’s Mission, Core Beliefs, and Practices. These are the “Apprentices of Jesus” growing together, in accordance with our Purpose.
what is unite church oversight?
The Oversight of Unite are the spiritual eldership and legal trustees of Unite Church. They are responsible for the spiritual and legal governance of Unite Church.
Unite Oversight is led by the Lead Pastors of Unite, who are organisationally accountable back to the Oversight via the Chair of the Trust Board.
What is the Oversight responsible for?
Unite Oversight is made up of people who either lead (govern) to achieve our Purpose, or who oversee (in the way of prayer and caring for) those that govern, or both.
The Trust Board is included in Unite Oversight and some of their responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
The raising, appointing, and equipping of Neighbourhood Church Shepherds.
Supporting the Lead Pastors as they lead in prayer, teaching, and shepherding of Unite Church, in accordance with our Mission and Purpose.
The creation and management of affiliated- trusts or partnerships that extend the Mission of Unite.
Fulfilling all legal, charitable, and financial obligations of an Incorporated Charitable Trust in Aotearoa according to our Trust Deed and NZ Law, including managing property and other assets, preparing budgets and managing finances, etc.
What is the relationship between unite partners & oversight?
Intentionality:
Oversight intends to communicate vision and planning to Partners, by producing regular reports detailing updates, plans, and reviews. Previously these reports have been annually but Oversight intends to produce more regular reports and use them as an opportunity to celebrate God’s continued faithfulness.
These reports are available on this Partners Page (below), on our Facebook Family Hub Group, and are sent via email and Slack also.
Approachability:
Oversight encourages an open channel for communication of any kind between Oversight and Partner(s) for queries, feedback or concerns.
Partners can email the Lead Pastors or the Trust Board Chair. Email addresses are publically listed on the website.
Every Partner is connected to a Unite Neighbourhood Church Shepherd who is a link to Unite Oversight and also a trusted option within this channel of communication.
The Lead Pastors commit to maintaining strong relationships with the Neighbourhood Church Shepherds supporting them with any query a Partner has brought to them, or any concern a Shepherd has, in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
