UNITE CHURCH PRIVACY POLICY
General
We use information collected (primarily via Connect cards [see below], directly via Church Shepherds/Oversight and online forms) to accomplish the mission of Unite Church. This includes communicating to you relevant news, updates, and information. You can unsubscribe at any time. Unite Church does not and will not trade, license, rent or sell any personal information.
By choosing to submit your information to Unite Church, you agree to this Privacy Policy and the terms of use linked in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to this Privacy Policy, do not provide personal information to Unite Church, or request the removal of your information held by Unite Church.
You may request access to and/or the full removal of your information from Unite Church at any time and we will accommodate such a request.
Connect Cards
Connect Cards, as their name indicates, and other online forms on our unitechurch.org.nz website are a tool for you to connect with Unite Church. We take liberty in the assumption, therefore, that you would then be expecting communication and response to your filled-in connect card.
When you fill in a connect card (either a physical card or online at www.unitechurch.org.nz/connect-card), it goes to the office to input the data. It will then get passed onto relevant ministry leadership.
If you have ticked that you request anonymity with your praise story/prayer request/feedback, we will respect this.
“Leadership” Definition
Unite Church is governed by a Board.
The Senior Leaders work with the various ministry and management leaders including the Board, Oversight, External Oversight (authorised by the Board) and Neighbourhood Church Shepherds.
Your contact details will be added to our database and are accessible to the above-mentioned leadership to be used only for the purpose(s) specified on the connect cards and that mentioned in the above “General” text in this policy.
If you fill in a connect card with a praise story/prayer request/feedback - it will not be shared beyond the office (to input the details) and Oversight, unless permission has been granted.
Data Storage
Your data that we hold is stored online in a cloud-based software. We use MailChimp and Google Drive to do this. To learn more about MailChimp’s privacy policy and protection of data, visit https://www.intuit.com/privacy/statement.
Your information is rarely printed, however when it is, remains in the Unite Church office located at 173 Rutherford Street, Nelson and is locked and accessible only to the highest leadership and management levels.
